This policy applies to all users of The Society Gate mobile application (hereinafter referred to as "the App") for Android devices. The App is designed to provide subscription-based services for managing and facilitating residential society operations. By using The Society Gate App, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

To provide and improve our services, we collect several types of information from users:

  • Personal Details: When you create an account, we may collect your name, address, phone number, email address, and other necessary information.
  • Location Data: The App may collect your device's location to provide services such as booking amenities, managing visitor entries, and enhancing user experience.
  • Camera and Gallery: We require access for uploading documents, photos, or visitor images. You may grant or deny this via device settings.
  • Financial Information: For maintenance bill payments, we use third-party payment gateways. We do not store sensitive financial information, such as credit card details, on our servers.
  • Usage Data: We collect data on how you interact with the App, including features used and duration of interactions.
  • Chat Data: The App provides a messaging feature; we collect data related to your chat interactions between admins, members, and watchmen.

2. Types of Users

The Society Gate App is designed for three types of users, each with specific levels of access:

Admin Users

Can register users, manage data, send notices, generate gate passes, manage rent agreements, add shop listings, and chat with members.

Society Members

Can view notices, book amenities, pay bills via 3rd party gateways, view shop listings, generate gate passes, and chat with the community.

Watchmen

Can manage visitor details, approve visitors, access the members list for verification, and communicate via the in-app chat.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Service Delivery: To allow access to registration, visitor management, notices, and billing.
  • App Enhancement: To improve performance and UI based on user feedback.
  • Notifications: To send visitor passes, payment receipts, and society updates.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with the Indian Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and prevent fraud.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with third-party service providers (payment gateways, hosting, technical support) or if required by law to protect the rights of The Society Gate and ensure user safety.

5. Data Security & Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. You may request account deletion at any time.

6. Your Rights and Choices

As per the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:

  • Access & Correction: Request access to or correction of inaccurate data.
  • Erasure: Request the deletion of your account and personal data.
  • Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent for location or camera access (may impact app functionality).
  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured format.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under this age.
